We've got the pleasure to talk with the leader of sk.de,
who has directed his team in different lan parties (holland,
Brasil, USA, France) and carrying them to the victory.
He's sk.Jap. Shy guy and very intelligent. Do you want
to know him better?

[sk-aNouC]
Hi Jan ..
[sk-Jap]
Hi Ana
[sk-aNouC] well
we talked with ur mate bds about this sk.sca adittion
in ur clan. How u decided to introduce them, and how
it is for you to have them in the clan ?
[sk-Jap] Well we
hope we will have a good partner with them in our clan.
We will pracc together in future for the World Championship
in Dezember and hope we can push each other to a good
ranking there.
[sk-Jap] Its no
competition between both, its more a partnership to get
better for both...
[sk-aNouC] Seems
like sk.de and sk.sca will compete as enemys in each
tourney; that could make u both more competitive and
somehow is good for motivate. But that CPL Dallas is
very near, which are the clans u more fear to face there
?
[sk-Jap] Nearly
all good clans will be in Dallas,so its gonna be really
hard for us, i think the favorites for the title are
NiP and the US clan X3,but we´ve never seen them
playing against European clans so will be kinda exciting
[sk-aNouC] u think
WCG wont have good cs clans ?
[sk-Jap] Well mTw.de
for example will go the WCG but the World Championship
is more actractive because of its high cash prices.
It´s a pitty both events take place on the same
weekend :(
[sk-aNouC] true...
so now centering the atention in u as a player, how
u define ur gaming style ?
[sk-Jap] Mhh i would
say I´m an allrounder and I´m very flexible
(?!) with my possitions in clanwars. I prefer range
weapons like m4 or ak.
[sk-aNouC] so which
is ur favourite weapon ? or which one shows us ur best
?
[sk-Jap] I really
like the m4 or ak but also the awp and the Eagle is
nice. I always adjust them to the possition i have in
clanwars.
[sk-aNouC] how cs
influenced ur normal life ? U feel sometimes some kind
of obsesed ?
[sk-Jap] I spent
a lot time for playing Counter-Strike in the last months
and I really enjoy it but I tried to reduce it a bit
in the last weeks to do more other things. It´s
always a problem to combine this "job" with
school and other stuff like friends....
[sk-aNouC] what
elements need ur favourite CFG ?
[sk-Jap] Mh I also
spent a lot of time to optimize my cfg (download on
www.schroet.de ) but upcoming events like CPL wont allow
special cfg´s so I use a default one at the moment
to get used to it.
[sk-aNouC] what
about ur graffics ? default or something special ?
[sk-Jap] I prefer
a high resolution like 1024 but without special graffic
settings, I dont use picmip or sth else.
[sk-Jap] I only
reduced some unnecessary things like bullets or puffs.

[sk-aNouC]
so, all this is on ur own way, or u have some favourite
cs players that u started to follow in ur beginning,
or otherside some one that actually u like it?
[sk-Jap] I never
had an idol or a person which I always looked up to
but i enjoy it to play with pret. We both play together
since our beginning of Counter-Strike and both have
our own style to play but it really works nice if we
play together on the same possition.
[sk-aNouC] and what
about Q3, we know u enjoy that game sometimes; some
important name for u ?
[sk-Jap] I played
Q3 before I started with CS but my clan was only less
active and my friends brought me to Counter-Strike.
SteLam and Slinger are very good Q3 players and their
engagement in proffesional gaming is very good.
[sk-aNouC] What
do u think is more important in a clan, a good own skill
or a perfect work in team ?
[sk-Jap] The most
important thing is that the players enjoy it to play
in the clan. Shure they need a high basic level and
teamwork is something you can train by the time.
[sk-aNouC] lan o
internet?
[sk-Jap] LAN, we
only use internet to practise or to qualify for LAN
events but online leagues are a big problem in cs because
of the huge amount of cheats.
[sk-aNouC] complete
the sentence -hehe-: a gamer needs _______ as a OS for
play in better conditions.
[sk-Jap] a gamer
needs a girl as a OS for play in better conditions...
:)
[sk-aNouC] lol ...
so for be a top player u need various girls ;p
[sk-Jap] si
[sk-Jap] :)
[sk-aNouC] We know
from some rumours, that sk have some sk-house where
u all meet and do some other things, is that true ?
what u do there ? in which cases ?
[sk-Jap] We have
a building we call HQ where our Q3 teams often practices
for important games. We also meet there from time to
time to celebrate sth.
[sk-aNouC] Great,
finally we have some more info about that misterious
place ;)
[sk-aNouC] now...
tell us which was that game that u will always remember...
coz was great, or long, or impresive...
[sk-Jap] I have
three games in mind which have been very impresive.
The game vs Ocrana on the Lan Arena 5 was so close and
full of tensions but in the end we won with just a single
round. Another one was against mTw in the PCA Master
which was decided in a second overtime again with only
one round. And the best game we ever made was against
SoA at CPL London where it seemed we already lost the
game but with a great team spirit found back and won
11 rounds in 10 minutes and won in the end :)
[sk-aNouC] how it
is to b in sk ? how is the atmosphere... it looks like
a pretty hard organization, compenetrate ... and with
such meetings between the members..
[sk-Jap] Its a honor
to be a member of SK and the atmosphere between the
old the new players is really good. The organization
is good but we still have mutch to improve it. But it´s
not that hard as some people imagine, we still play
beneath other jobs and don´t get salary...
[sk-aNouC] but u
have sponsors, they help u in many cases right ?
[sk-aNouC] and u
already get all the prices from the tourneys u win..
:P
[sk-Jap] Yes we
get supported by companies like Intel,ELSA,QSC,Flying
Horse and Abit who support us with hardware and with
money, it´s the best sponsorship in Germany, perhaps
in Europe...

[sk-aNouC]
and what about the organization days / weeks before
the matches ?
[sk-Jap] That´s
a problem, ecspecially in the CS team, on Lans we play
mutch better because we have more time to plan things
but on the Internet most players to other links like
chatting (ehm ehm the others will laugh here :>)
and often we dont find the time to get all members online
for a praccy or sth.
[sk-aNouC] how do
u spect the future of CS ? u know that someone said
there is the possibility to follow the CPL matches over
TV in a near future? u think that will be the future
"football" ?
[sk-Jap] It´s
a dream of most Counter-Strike players to see their
matches on TV someday but it will take some additional
time till that. I hope everythings grows bigger and
bigger by the time and perhaps one day players can earn
montly money because of their gaming.
[sk-aNouC] well
i would ask for ur nick, but guess is obvious: Jan Perius
= Jap :) Or there is some other story ?
[sk-Jap] Hehe yes
i sat in school someday and i seached for a nick and
i combined Jan Perius to Jap :).
[sk-aNouC] hehe
fine.. well we all know that great sk captain who managed
one of the best cs teams ever; a guy that looks quiet,
shy, serious, intelligent... but whats in the other
side of Jap ? how u define urself as a person?
[sk-Jap] The desciption
you made seems to be suitable for people who only know
me over the Internet or out of short meetings. I need
my time to show my real deep hidden character :)
[sk-aNouC] true
;) But thats work of each one near you... and for sure
i must add, a pleasure
[sk-aNouC] thx for
ur time Jan and many luck in next events
[sk-aNouC] before
to close the iview, u can greet someone...
[sk-Jap] thx ana,
was nice to talk to you, greets to the whole SK clan,my
family,merc,Steven and Ivonne
[sk-aNouC] cya ;)
[sk-Jap] cu
