And here we go with another
german top player. This time is the turn of Craken.
A lot of people think that he is the best german player.
Now he's fraggin' for the swedish team GoL, whis has
been recently united with mTw, creating one of the most
powerful clans in Europe. Do you want to know him better?
Here's what he told us!

we all knew about you from the wellknown cs clan mTw...
and after some really nice lans where u ofered a great
teamplay with ur clan; now we all can see u online with
GoL tag... what happened that months ? ;)
[GoL|cRackeN]
Well, I really had a great time with mTw for, what was
pretty much 1 year, but after most of the "old"
mTw guys i started playing with when i first joined
had left, i somehow felt the need for a change for myself.
I was thinking about quitting CS, but after i got the
offer from GoL to join them, i thought i'd take this
unique chance to play in a scandinavian Top-CS-Clan.
[sk-aNouC] But before
to join GoL, u was selected as best German cs player
in a poll on a cs site; seems ur in ur best moment,
u could really quit it ?
[GoL|cRackeN] Apart
from the fact that i do not really think a poll is a
very precise indicator for "how good" a player
is, I really felt something was missing while I played
with mTw in the last tournaments. I know we played very
well, winning the 2nd german masters and performing
quite good at the CPL Berlin, but still i felt this
need for a change.
[sk-aNouC] ok to change sometimes is good
somehow too, so after this short introduction, the next
questions are curiositys that some Spainish players
would like to know about a profesional player like you...
[sk-aNouC] First
of all, how u define ur gaming-style ?
[GoL|cRackeN] phew, quite a question.
[GoL|cRackeN] well,
i think i play rather defensive and try to keep my mind
focused on tacticts and teamplay and not on personal
"i want to kill that bastard"-thoughts.
[sk-aNouC] hehe nice control, but maybe sometimes
u feel too much obsesion for cs? how that game influenced
ur normal life ?
[GoL|cRackeN] The game it self has less and
less influence on my normal life, it once was more,
when i played more it really changed my life a bit,
like watching prime-time-TV going out with friends has
become less and less too..
[GoL|cRackeN] but
nowerdays it returns to a more normal life, though IRC
takes quite a bit of time of my life ;)
[sk-aNouC] what elements have to have ur
favourite CFG ?
[GoL|cRackeN] Oh i have to disappoint you,
i am playing with a pretty much default config. I have
the official CPL GUI installed and bind all my keys
in the in-game menu and do not edit any .cfg files in
windows.
[GoL|cRackeN] That
makes it easier to do the config at CPL events
[GoL|cRackeN] and
other events, since you don't need your own cfg with
you
[GoL|cRackeN] you
can create it in a couple of minutes
[sk-aNouC] well i'm not disappointed, seems
each player answer the same :p then ur graffics are
pretty default, right ?
[GoL|cRackeN] 100%

[sk-aNouC] The next CPL will be that december
in Dallas; which are ur objectives and who seems to
be the hardest enemy u'll face there?
[GoL|cRackeN] As a matter of fact it is not
sure if i will be participating at CPL Dallas, but i
guess the European top clans like NiP and ND are probably
among the hardest and the american clans musn't be underestimated.
[sk-aNouC] what about the anouncement that
GoL and mTw will b together in Dallas ? xplain us a
bit...
[GoL|cRackeN] the basic facts about this
are that CPL Dallas was fully booked, mTw had a spot,
mTw won WCG Qualifier and was about to go to Korea and
GoL had no spot for Dallas
[GoL|cRackeN] So
after some discussion and telephone talks between both
of the clan leaders
[GoL|cRackeN] the
arrangement mTw.GoL was made.

[GoL|cRackeN] hm well i think i know the
spanish clan that participated in CB Eurocup
[GoL|cRackeN] but
i can't really name a lot of spanish clans
[sk-aNouC] u saw them playing ? what do u
think of their level ?
[GoL|cRackeN] I'm no big fan on HLTV and
spectating online matches, so i can't really say much
about their skill
[sk-aNouC] k np, who is ur favourite cs player
then ?
[GoL|cRackeN] uh, hm, i'd say "da_own0r
aka XeqtR" and the "Die Sportangler aka wirsing
and speiky" :))
[sk-aNouC] hehe and what about Q3? some name

female play0r is "da_rul0r aka aNouC" :) and
male is "blobby n00b aka Neok", though i never
talk to him :P

do u think is more important in a clan, the individual
skill or the team work ?
[GoL|cRackeN] As a well known tire devoloper
says in it's advertising slogan "Power is nothing
without control" i think one can say, "Individual
skill is nothing without teamwork"
[sk-aNouC] wow good answer, u could make
a cs slogan ;) and for someone that prepared for cs;
which is ur favourite weapon and/or which is the weapon
that shows ur best ?
[GoL|cRackeN] I'm pretty much playing AK/M4
only and sometimes AWP though i loved the MP5 some CS
versions ago :)
[sk-aNouC] lan or internet ?
[GoL|cRackeN] For me the internet is only
a preparition for LANs, so i play the same weapons on
internet as in LAN
[sk-aNouC] which one was for u the most dificuld
match of ur life ?
[GoL|cRackeN] The toughest match i would
say was at the germans PC ACTION MASTERS where i played
against SK with mTw and the match went into 2 overtimes.
We played 3 maps instead of one, we draw on the first
2 maps and lost with one round on the last map.
[GoL|cRackeN] that was a pretty intense match
for almost 3 hours.
[sk-aNouC] Well that game was in ur time
being mTw; what about GoL ? how is the atmosphere in
ur new clan ?
[GoL|cRackeN] The personal athmosphere is
very good, i come along with all the members and look
forward to the future
[sk-aNouC] and how is the structure ? some
sponsor ?
[GoL|cRackeN] GameOnline is a Netcafé
which supports the team financially
[sk-aNouC] oh nice..
[sk-aNouC] how do
u spect the future of CS ? u know that someone said
there is the possibility to follow the CPL matches over
TV in a near future? u think that will be the future
"football" ?
[GoL|cRackeN] CS over TV will happen i think
and i guess it will start in america.
[GoL|cRackeN] the question is how popular
it will become
[sk-aNouC] The best OS for a gamer is ...
?
[GoL|cRackeN] Win98 or WinME, i haven't tested
XP yet, but some ppl say it is ok for gaming too
[sk-aNouC] and... what about ur nick ? why

to get a nick" :) It's from a StarWars book, and
i am some sort of StarWars fan :)

the minuts / hours / days before a match ?
[GoL|cRackeN] I haven't played any official
matches with GoL yet, but a main part is certainly doing
tactic walkthroughs and training, and MAY THE FORCE
BE WITH US ;)
